- I solve this problem on my A1200 w/ Seagate 2.5" 1992 vintage (it happens
- when I leave the machine off for more than a few days and the weather's
- cold) by running a MemCheck program that accesses all the chips and warms
- the inside of the computer up sufficiently for the drive to free in a
- couple of hours or so. It seems safer than hitting or directly heating
- the drive.
